Hillary: Republican Anti-Women Extremists Remind Me Of Terrorists

Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton just took Republican presidential candidates to task for their “extreme views” of women’s reproductive health issues and policies. Cutting straight to the chase, Clinton likened the GOP’s oppressive assault on women’s rights to the views held by “terrorist groups”.

Clinton gave this speech at a campaign event in Cleveland on Thursday, and specifically called out former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Ohio Gov. John Kasich. Making listeners aware of each “out of date, out of touch” conservative’s faults, Clinton pointed out that Rubio is against abortion even in cases of rape and incest, Bush wants to defund Planned Parenthood and Kasich banned state funds for rape crisis centers because in some cases rape victims are referred to abortion clinics.

Clinton didn’t bother sugar-coating her criticism of Republicans at any point. She really let loose, with a welcome venom rarely seen from her:

“Now extreme views on women, we expect that from some of the terrorist groups, we expect that from people who don’t want to live in the modern world, but it’s a little hard to take coming from Republicans who want to be the president of the United States. Yet they espouse out-of-date, out-of-touch policies. They are dead wrong for 21st-century America. We are going forward; we are not going back.”

Clinton also stated it would be nice if Republicans, who claim to value life so much, would recognize the value in women’s health organizations like Planned Parenthood. The former Secretary of State said:

“I would like these Republican candidates to look the mom in the eye who caught her breast cancer early because she was able to get a screening for cancer or the teenager who didn’t get pregnant because she has access to contraception. Or anyone who has ever been protected by an HIV test.”

Despite the wave of inevitable crocodile tears of outrage streaming from the right, which says untold numbers of horrifically offensive things every day, Clinton’s campaign refused to back down and released a statement via Spokesperson Christina Reynolds:

“Instead of trying to manufacture outrage by twisting Hillary Clinton’s words, Republican presidential candidates should stop pushing extreme policies that would limit women’s reproductive health care choices.”

Clinton, who has made women’s issues such as equal pay, abortion rights and childhood education a major part of her campaign.
She has nothing to apologize for and is 100% correct. Republican views are basically decades behind the modern world in nearly any area concerning basic human rights. We’ve seen their oppressive views surface with the struggle for marriage equality, their ignorance within police brutality and the #BlackLivesMatter movement, and continuously see their opposition to granting women autonomy over their own bodies. During each election, women’s rights and freedoms are put on the line by Republicans who want to control and take away their right to affordable, accessible healthcare, family planning and life-saving medical procedures. The GOP is anti-woman – always has been and always will be because it refuses to evolve with the rest of the country.

The comparison between them and religious extremist groups like ISIS (ISIL/Daesh) is an appropriate one. Both of them are trying to forcibly impose a patriarchal system of social control based on radical interpretations of religious texts that mandate harsh restrictions on sexuality and female agency. The only difference is how they go about it.
