Samuel L. Jackson Praises Bernie and Hillary, Slams Republican "Assh*les"

The world-famous Hollywood actor whose films have collectively grossed more money than any in history, Samuel L Jackson, noted in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter that he “goes to the movies to escape,” but that he is also deeply“troubled by the state of things in the real world” – but he looks to the Democratic Party to fix it.

Jackson, who grew up in the segregated South is a life-long outspoken Democrat and said that he is “gonna vote for Hillary” but that he “love[s] Bernie – Bernie’s a man of the people.”  However, he thinks Hillary is “a person that can keep those other people from winning…” By those other people, Jackson means his hate-mongering sometimes golfing buddy, Donald Trump and the rest of the field of xenophobic Republican presidential wannabees.

Noting the hate spewed by Republicans and Trump in particular, Jackson says he feels for innocent Muslim-Americans “they have fallen under the veil of suspicion because a few other people who share their religion have committed atrocities against their countrymen.”  Unfortunately, the recent terrorist acts in Paris and San Bernardino, as well the 2009 Fort Hood tragedy have provided Republicans with what they believe to be “a legitimate reason now to look at your Muslim neighbor, friend, whatever in another way. And they become the new young black men.”  Acknowledging Trump’s “hate” is capitalizing on this for political gain, Jackson says:

“There’s absolutely nothing I can do. There are some other people that aren’t as open about what he’s [Trump] saying that are running also, you know, that are just as crazy, that have just as much ill-will toward the common man — and not just the common black man.”

Obviously not only referring to the anti-Muslim sentiment that is pervasive in the Republican Party, Jackson recognizes the hatred and contempt felt for the common man by the Republican elite. Trump and his party have spewed hate and resentment that has been directly responsible for not only local acts of violence against Muslim-Americans – but the hateful rhetoric that has flamed the resurgence of white-racist groups like the KKK – while advocating support for corporatist policies that favor only the rich oligarchs and corporations in this country.

During the interview, Jackson also expressed frustration with our  do-nothing, Republican-controlled Congress. In an apparent reference to the likes of Republican Marco Rubio and other elected officials with very poor attendance records, a rightfully angry Jackson hopes the Clintons know where the skeletons are buried:

“And hopefully she can open up the skeletal files of those do-nothing assh*les that go to work, like, four times a year and not vote on things and threaten them with whatever she and Bill [Clinton] uncovered on them years ago and make ’em do something and we can get something done.”

Jackson certainly has his pulse on the Republican hate machine and the do-nothing obstructionist Republican Party. He understands their misdirected anger and the abhorrence they feel towards the diversity that is America. Whether you agree with his choice of Hillary or you are for Bernie, Jackson is clearly right that if you don’t wish to surrender our country to a group hate-mongering xenophobic misogynistic politicians and their oligarch puppet-masters, then think “I’m forever a Democrat and I’m gonna vote Blue.”
