BREAKING: Mass Shooting In Ohio Leaves Seven Dead

It is with great regret that we must bring you news of yet another mass shooting in the United States. This time, death struck in Pike County, where seven were brutally murdered at three different crime scenes, all confirmed to be related. Five adults and two children were killed “execution-style” according to police. A manhunt is underway for the shooter.

One of the shooting sites was a private residence. Little other information is available at this time, but all Adams County Ohio Valley high schools and nearby Peebles high school have been locked down, with no entry or exit allowed for anyone.

This will be the 77th mass shooting in our nation so far this year, bringing the total of Americans taken by gun violence to 3,951 this year. The efforts to pass of meaningful, comprehensive gun reform legislation is becoming a Sisyphean task. Each instance of bloody slaughter normalizes the tragedy even more, making it even more difficult for our Democratic legislators to overcome Republican obstructionism.

We mourn for the lost and wish to express our condolences for their families.

This story will be updated as more information is available.

UPDATE: An eighth body has been found.
