Ex-CIA Chief: Trump Begging Russia For Help Winning Election Borders On Treason

Leon Panetta, the former CIA chief, has publicly stated that Republican nominee Donald Trump is not qualified for the presidency. This week America has been unnerved by allegations of Russian involvement with the Democratic National Convention (DNC) email leaks, possibly to give the Trump campaign a boost in the polls. Then today, Trump had the audacity to call on Russia to release ‘missing’ emails from Hillary Clinton’s term as Secretary of State.

Panetta said,

“You have a presidential candidate who is, in fact, asking the Russians to engage in American politics. I think that’s beyond the pale. … He is truly not qualified to be president of the United States.”

Whatever is going on behind the scenes, it is totally inappropriate for any American politician to be asking a foreign power to commit cyber espionage, or to interfere with American politics to benefit a political candidate. Trump needs to realize that American democracy is about the voice of the American people.
