BREAKING: Trump Foundation Caught Operating Illegally, Will Have To Refund Donations
In a stunning bombshell revelation, it has been discovered by intrepid reporter David Farenthold that the Donald Trump Foundation was never certified as a charity or legally allowed to accept tax-free donations. With a court order, Trump will have to return all donations to their original owners.
The Washington Post reports that:
Donald Trump’s charitable foundation — which has been sustained for years by donors outside the Trump family — has never obtained the certification that New York requires before charities can solicit money from the public, according to the state attorney general’s office.
Under the laws in New York, where the Donald J. Trump Foundation is based, any charity that solicits more than $25,000 a year from the public must obtain a special kind of registration beforehand. Charities as large as Trump’s must also submit to a rigorous annual audit that asks — among other things — whether the charity spent any money for the personal benefit of its officers.
The Trump Foundation has never operated like a traditional charity has – it is used as a front for him to launder money through so he can avoid paying taxes, to accept other people’s donations and use that money to make it seem like Trump is a generous man, and to purchase charity items that Trump has taken a fancy to, like a $10,000 portrait of himself or a $12,000 Tim Tebow helmet. Trump hasn’t given any money to the “foundation” since 2008.
Charity experts were stunned at the revelation. “He’s a billionaire who acts like a thousandaire. You wouldn’t expect somebody who’s supposed to be sophisticated, and brags about his business prowess, would run his foundation like this” says Pace University professor James J. Fishman.
Every single part of the Trump “empire” is tainted with his corrupting touch. It is all a giant scheme to fill his pockets and to plaster his image across the world, an intricately constructed but ultimately ersatz image of a successful businessman and philanthropist. This is either a colossal error of a giant fool or an arrogant flouting of the law by a man who thinks himself to be above the rules that govern the rest of us.
On top of all this, somehow Trump has the nerve to attack the Clinton Foundation, which has helped improve the lives of over 400 million people around the world. He is a disgusting hypocrite of the worst kind. He is a cartoonish villain; at this point it could be revealed his Chinese ties are made by children in a sweatshop and it wouldn’t be surprising. How many more times can we tell the American people he’s is utterly unqualified to be dogcatcher, let alone President of the United States?
