Trump Once Wanted To Impeach Obama. George Takei Just Responded Hilariously

President-elect Donald Trump will assume the powers of the Oval Office as the 45th President of the United States in a little over a month, but he has already proved himself to be woefully unprepared for the job. Trump and his team admitted as much when they visited the White House for the first time to have a meeting with President Barack Obama who, at the time, recognized Trump’s dangerous naivety and committed himself to mentoring Trump for the good of the nation.

Trump’s complete lack of preparedness as the soon-to-be most powerful and influential man in the world is ironic in that over two years ago, when he was a mere failed lying businessman, Trump tweeted the following question in regards to impeaching a sitting president:

impeach

A constitutional scholar Trump is not, and therefore he certainly doesn’t know about article four of the constitution which lays out the rules regarding presidential impeachment:

The President, Vice President, and all civil Officers of the United States shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other High Crimes and Misdemeanors

Trump’s question was about President Obama of which there is zero evidence to suggest Obama ever accepted a bribe or behaved treasonously. Trump, on the other hand, has even before taking office already begun to line his pockets with profits he has reaped thanks to the influence of being the president-elect. None of this is a problem to Trump who said in regards to the conflicts of interest, “The law is totally on my side, meaning, the president can’t have a conflict of interest.”

The hypocrisy abounds, and actor, director, and American hero George Takei has been viciously skewering Trump for months by calling him out on social media. Takei dug up Trump’s question about impeaching a president for incompetence from two years ago, and he completely leveled Trump’s position with a Tweet of a single sentence:

takei

In reality, only the House of Representatives can move to impeach a sitting president and Republicans control, and have controlled, the house for almost a decade. Therefore, unless Democrats win back a majority in 2018 Trump will never be impeached. Even if Democrats were to win a majority, “incompetence” is not a legitimate reason to bring forward impeachment proceedings, but as sure as water is wet it is all but assured that while in power Trump will break enough laws to give one a dealer’s choice of pickings to impeach him upon.
