Paul Ryan Just Announced Republicans Will Defund Planned Parenthood
Barely a day after the new session of Congress convened, House Republicans showed the contempt they have for the American people and the callous disregard for our well-being by announcing that the repeal of the Affordable Care Act will also strip Planned Parenthood of its funding, not only leaving twenty million Americans without health insurance but also without any free reproductive healthcare.
Planned Parenthood has been the subject of relentless Republican witch-hunts by the fanatical religious extremists and misogynists in the House of Representatives, who will not be cowed in their efforts to deny women agency over their own bodies and sexual healthcare for the poor. Republicans have been set on destroying Planned Parenthood event though there is not a shred of evidence to support the ridiculous lies that the right-wing insists on repeating after notorious anti-choice propagandist Daniel Daleidan released a set of misleadingly doctored videos which purported to show evidence of fetal tissue sales.
Despite the fact investigations into Louisiana, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, South Dakota, Georgia and Indiana’s Planned Parenthoods all concluded with no evidence of any wrongdoing, or the consensus from experts indicating that the illegally recorded videos by anti-abortion propagandists were heavily edited and misleading, the misogynist rabble in the House have decided that isn’t enough. No matter how many times one might tell the unwashed churls of the House, Planned Parenthood does not use federal funding for abortions. Abortions make up 3% of what Planned Parenthood does.
But it’s clear at this point that they don’t care about the well-being of the American people at all. They are intent on repealing the ACA and defunding Planned Parenthood without any replacement in place. Make no mistake; people will suffer and die because this gallery of nihilistic frauds are so beholden to their corporate masters and the personal agendas of rich Christian radicals.
