Trump Just “Complimented” Keith Ellison. Ellison’s Response Is Perfect
President Donald Trump tweeted a bizarre backhanded compliment to Keith Ellison, a progressive candidate running for chair of the Democratic National Committee, and ended up getting humiliated by Ellison’s response.
Trump is incapable of discussing anything other than his election victory, so of course, the closest thing to a compliment he could offer was a reminder that Ellison predicted Trump’s win.
One thing I will say about Rep. Keith Ellison, in his fight to lead the DNC, is that he was the one who predicted early that I would win!

Ellison did not give any sort of a compliment to Trump in his 2015 remarks on ABC: “Anybody from the Democratic side of the fence who’s terrified of the possibility of President Trump better vote, better get active, better get involved because this man has got some momentum. We better be ready for the fact that he may be leading the Republican ticket.”
In Trump’s parallel universe, however, the only real compliment is “winner” and the only real insult is “loser.” Understandably, Ellison confused him.
Ellison responded by giving Trump another prediction based on the current state of the country:

That must come as a slap in the face to our egocentric crybaby-in-chief.
Ellison has been a leading critic of Trump, from 2015 and through the first month of his disastrous presidency. If the impossible happens and Trump manages to last four years without being impeached, we can be certain the Ellison will be there every day to attack Trump’s latest atrocious policy proposal or most recent incendiary soundbite.
