Congress Just Demanded Trump Produce Wiretap Evidence By Monday

The House Intelligence Committee has demanded that the White House produce any evidence that they might have to back up the outrageous accusations that President Trump has leveled against his predecessor – and he has until Monday to do it.

Ranking committee members Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) and Rep. Mark Schiff (D-CA) have sent a letter to Trump demanding that he demonstrate anything that might give substance to the conspiracy theory he read in Breitbart and then decided to publicly attack his predecessor with.

Last week, President Trump openly asserted that President Obama had been “wiretapping” Trump Tower during the campaign, with no evidence to back him up. Presidents are not allowed to order wiretaps under rules specifically written to prevent predatory and vengeful petty tyrants like Trump from using them against his enemies.

Which means that either a court granted the intelligence community a FISA warrant due to the Trump campaign’s infiltration by and collusion with Russsian agents – or Trump is about to be humiliated in front of the world, caught in a lie and permanently tarnishing his credibility barely fifty days into his administration.

It will certainly be amusing for us to see what kind of ridiculous excuses or hastily contrived evidence the White House will present to Congress explaining why they have nothing to back up what the President idly tweeted out after reading fake news on the internet.

Trump will not be able to walk away from this unscathed. By the time this is all over, he will either be labeled liar or traitor – and either one of them suits us just fine.
