Republican House Intel Committee Just Revealed Trump Made Up Obama Wiretap
House Republicans have begun slowly unveiling the results of the “Obama wiretap” investigation that President Trump ordered – and just as we suspected, there is absolutely no evidence that President Obama illegally wiretapped or otherwise imposed electronic surveillance on Trump Tower.
Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) admitted that his investigations into the conspiracy theories that President Trump read about in a Breitbart articles have turned up nothing.
“As I told you last week about the issue with the president talking about tapping Trump Tower, that evidence still remains the same, that we don’t have any evidence that that took place. In fact, I don’t believe just in the last week of time, the people we’ve talked to, I don’t think there was an actual tap of Trump Tower.”
A few weeks ago, President Trump took to Twitter and openly accused President Obama of placing “wiretapps” on Trump Towers during the election as some kind of dastardly scheme to…do what, exactly, is still unclear.

Presidents cannot order wiretaps, thanks to rules written specifically for preventing predatory tyrants like Trump from using electronic surveillance to punish political enemies. Only intelligence agencies may place wiretaps, and only with the permission of a court.
Yesterday, Press Secretary Sean Spicer said that President Trump was “extremely confident” that the committee would “vindicate him.”
This news needs to be shouted from every rooftop and shared on every media platform.
The President of the United States just ordered a Congressional committee to waste time and taxpayer money investigating paranoid delusions inspired by far-right wing conspiracy theories, which discovered not even a shred of evidence.
We are entering a new phase of the post-truth era, a dark and disturbing period in which we cannot trust the president to tell the truth to the nation. Trump has no more credibility and no more room to stand on. He is a fraud, a clown, and a disgrace to our nation.
