Trump Just Ignored A White Terror Attack In NYC, And Twitter Is Roasting Him
Donald Trump has seized any and every excuse to incite Islamophobia in his short political career, but when it comes to terrorism perpetrated by white supremacists, the Muslim Banner-in-Chief is eerily silent.
This week, a white supremacist from Maryland traveled to New York City with the expressed purpose of killing a black person. Tragically, before being apprehended by authorities, the terrorist murdered 66 year-old Timothy Caughman. Here is Caughman on Election Day, proudly standing in line to cast a vote in the country he loved:
As per usual, the response from Donald Trump was deafening silence, sending a clear and disturbing signal that black lives do not matter to him and white crime is something he’s more than willing to tolerate.
Twitter, however, had plenty to say about this senseless act and the President’s lack of response:
Planning to kill a stranger is a way that maximizes media focus is kinda the definition of terrorism https://t.co/1XYSvD2Mkd

Say it with me now, Radical White Nationalist Terrorism. https://t.co/ifYUmAuzns

While these shameless responses from the White House have grown common, they cannot become normal. Every time our President needs to know the color of a terrorist or victim’s skin to decide the severity of a crime, it is a new travesty. Even if Trump won’t, we join the millions condemning this act of terror and honoring the lost life.
Rest in peace, Timothy Caughman.
