Senate Republicans Just Went Nuclear Over Gorsuch. Elizabeth Warren’s Response is Perfect
Today, Republicans forever changed the rules of the Senate in order to force confirmation of a radical, right wing judge nominated to the Supreme Court by a President whose very election has been tainted by evidence of collusion with a foreign adversary.
As in most cases of gross injustice, Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) is speaking up, powerfully and eloquently, for the hundreds of millions of Americans who will be adversely affected.
Yesterday, Senator Warren released a video (below) exposing Judge Gorsuch’s real record, and today, she launched into an epic Twitter string that took Republicans to task for their recklessness.
I get that the GOP won’t pick a progressive. But if a SCOTUS nominee isn’t mainstream enough for 60 votes, he/she shouldn’t be confirmed.

Changing the rules to jam through a right-wing, corporate-owned judge means the GOP will have to own the Gorsuch Court.

The GOP will have to own every 5-4 attack on women’s rights, voting rights, LGBT rights, & freedom of speech & religion.

The GOP will have to own every 5-4 case that opens the floodgates even more to secret spending in our political system.
— Elizabeth Warren (@SenWarren) April 6, 2017
The GOP will be responsible for every 5-4 decision that throws working Americans under the bus to favor the powerful, moneyed few.

If ever we needed a strong, independent Supreme Court with broad public support, it’s now. Rules change or not, we’ll keep fighting for it.

The majority of the Senate remains in self-destruct mode, but leaders like Senator Warren continue to inspire hope.
SCOTUS noms should defend equal justice for every one of us. @SenWarren says Judge Gorsuch's record shows he's not that nominee- Watch: pic.twitter.com/4VgbQeWPmF
