Trump Just Gave The LAMEST Excuse for His Failed Syria Strike
Amidst reports that Syria is continuing to launch airstrikes from the base that Trump just sent 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles to destroy, President Trump just tweeted out the lamest excuse.
The reason you don't generally hit runways is that they are easy and inexpensive to quickly fix (fill in and top)!

Most people would expect that the aim of a missile strike costing U.S. taxpayers at least $60 million would be to eliminate Syria’s capability to repeat the kind of air-launched chemical weapons atrocity that the strike was responding to.
However, according to The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, within a day of the attack two warplanes “took off from inside the Shayrat base, which is partially back in service, and struck targets near Palmyra.”
In addition, CNN reports that the town in rebel-held Idlib province that was originally hit by the chemical attack was again hit by airstrikes the very day after the U.S. airstrikes.
Of course, the twitter-sphere did not let Trump off the hook easily for his flippant excuse:
We all know the real reason for your attack. You wanted to bring up your poll numbers & steal the oil in Syria. pic.twitter.com/4kVfE7LAEm

If the goal of the failed $75 million mission wasn't to destroy the runways like you claimed it was before & are going back on—what was it?

How did the strike on the airfield help the Syrian people? Bashar al-Assad continued his attacks this morning.

Sorry President Trump, but people are not buying your excuses and fabrications!
