Trump Just Bragged About His Military Spending. Veterans’ Response Is Great
Most Presidents send Easter messages of love and redemption as befitting the holiday. Not Donald Trump. He likes to spend Easter tweeting about the big military buildup that he wants to fund by cutting social services, the arts, and everything else that doesn’t explode and kill people.
Our military is building and is rapidly becoming stronger than ever before. Frankly, we have no choice!

Well, a lot of patriotic Americans know that our existing military budget exceeds the spending of the next seven biggest nations COMBINED, and they think that there is a choice. Trump is just making the wrong one.
When the folks at VoteVets.org, the largest progressive group of veterans in America, representing over 500,000 veterans, military families, and civilian supporters, saw Trump’s tweet, they couldn’t keep quiet. In a series of devastating tweets, here’s how they replied:
We were strong before you showed up. You have hurt our moral authority abroad and weakened our ability to defeat our enemies. https://t.co/QHEOHNZJTL

During Vietnam when your nation called you avoided the draft. #draftdodgerdon https://t.co/QHEOHNZJTL

For once in your life, @realDonaldTrump, do the patriotic thing. Do what's best for our troops and not just good for The Trump Organization. pic.twitter.com/Vbuku7c5Kq

I can’t think of a more perfect response, or a more appropriate group to point out what we’ve all been thinking: Cluck! Cluck! Cluck!
