A Republican Said Americans Won’t Die Without Healthcare. Kamala Harris’ Response Is Perfect

Among the many shocking things Republicans said with regards to health care last week, Representative Raul Labrador’s (R-Idaho) comments stand out as some of the most controversial.

The House Representative, who voted for Trumpcare, was defending the Obamacare repeal after it was criticized by some of his constituents. He said: “No one wants anybody to die. That line is so indefensible. Nobody dies because they don’t have access to healthcare.”

This shockingly ignorant statement angered many, especially Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA), who had a harsh reply for the thoughtless representative.

“This guy, this congressman, you might as well say, ‘People don’t starve because they don’t have food.’

What the fuck is that?”

Harris made these comments during an interview with Pod Save America, which was recorded in front of a live studio audience. Laughs and cheers erupted from the crowd, especially since moments earlier had stopped herself from saying “bullshit.”

After Harris’ minor outburst she got serious and told the audience that progressives really need to work hard to vote out Republicans that voted for Trumpcare.

Harris could have said a whole lot more, especially since Labrador’s comments were so ridiculous. But, like the classy lady she is, she kept a sense of decorum while still sticking to her original message.

Listen to the full interview below, Harris’ comments begin at around 42:30
