A Reporter Just Asked A Republican About Trump’s Comey Memo. His Reply Is Revolting

Republicans in Congress can no longer conceal their frustration as they walk the plank for President Trump.

In a week that has seen back-to-back bombshell revelations — first, that Trump revealed top secret intel to the Russian ambassador and today that he had asked fired FBI Director James Comey to kill an investigation into former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn’s potentially treasonous collusion with Russia — the GOP’s excuses are running thin.

Even some members whose reelections are in jeopardy can apparently no longer be bothered to be civil. Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA) won his last election by a mere 5,000 votes against a promising political newcomer, Doug Applegate, and is likely facing an even tougher rematch next year.

With his job on the line, however, when Politico reporter Rachael Bade approached Issa for his thoughts on the Comey Memo, the Congressman could not muster a single word for her.

Instead, he offered a single finger:

While this level of disdain for the media is truly repugnant, Republicans seem to be learning that they cannot defend the indefensible.

We are still waiting for them to summon the political courage to do what is right.
