Trump Just Humiliated Himself At His Press Conference With Turkey’s President
President Trump stood before journalists today at the White House for a joint press conference with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Trump drew the ire of many human rights advocates last month after he called to congratulate Turkey’s strongman for winning a referendum that undermined his nation’s democratic rule.
Now the President has global observers shaking their heads. Within moments of taking the podium, Trump embarrassed himself by repeatedly mispronouncing the name of his Turkish counterpart, using the hard ‘G’ sound. (Correct pronunciation in the video below.)
This is not trivial. The below tweets show that the error was noticeably glaring. The humiliation stems not from a mere slip of the tongue but from a President who cannot be bothered to take note of the smallest details or make the slightest effort to tend to responsible diplomatic relations.
In other words, this is one more symptom of a very dangerous problem.

They need to add more bullets to his one page briefings. How to pronounce world leader's names seems like a good start. https://t.co/5yTbiFEjMx
