Trump Just Shared Classified Info With The Philippines. The Pentagon’s Response Is Perfect

President Trump has just committed his third major exposure of highly classified information – and our military is aghast.

It was revealed this morning that Trump told President Rodrigo Duterte of the Phillippines in a phone call that he was sending two U.S. Navy “nuclear subs” to the Korean peninsula in case the situation with North Korea turned violent.

“We have two submarines – the best in the world – we have two nuclear submarines – not that we want to use them at all. I’ve never seen anything like they are but we don’t have to use this but [Kim] could be crazy so we will see what happens.”

Nancy Youssef at Buzzfeed reached out to military officials for their opinion on the matter, and here is what they had to say:

“We never talk about subs!”

The officials elaborated, explaining why exactly this was such a stunning breach of protocol by our clueless Commander-in-Chief.

By announcing the presence of nuclear submarines, the president, some Pentagon officials privately explained, gives away the element of surprise — an irony given his repeated declarations during the campaign that the US announces far too many of its military plans when it comes to combatting ISIS.

Moreover, some countries in the region, particularly China, seek to develop their anti-sub capability. Knowing that two US submarines are in the region could allow them to test their own military capabilities.

The entire point of submarines, nuclear or otherwise, is that they are very difficult to locate. Nuclear-armed submarines are a critical part of America’s nuclear deterrent, keeping a portion of our arsenal where nobody – not even the Pentagon – knows exactly where they are.

It should be noted that Trump did not distinguish nor possibly knows the difference between our nuclear-armed submarines – of which there are just a handful – or our nuclear-powered submarines – of which there are many more.

With the news that Israel is now altering its intelligence-sharing protocols with the US after President Trump shared a closely guarded secret with the Russians while he was showing off, it’s come to the point where the Pentagon might have to restrict the information it tells the President of the United States because he can’t be trusted with our nation’s secrets.
