After Jimmy Kimmel opened up on national television about the heart condition his son was born with and made a moving plea to lawmakers not to end Obamacare’s lifesaving protections, Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) proclaimed that any healthcare bill must pass what he dubbed “the Jimmy Kimmel” test:

Four months later, Cassidy has joined with Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) to introduce Republicans’ last ditch effort to repeal Obamacare, and today, Kimmel weighed in:

Kimmel shared an article that makes clear that Graham-Cassidy flunks the very Kimmel test the Senator laid out and “doesn’t do what Cassidy himself pledged.”
The flagrant hypocrisy is only the latest instance of Republican rhetoric not only failing to align with their actions but fully contradicting them. Worse than the hypocrisy is the persistent and brazen attacks on vulnerable Americans to give tax cuts to the wealthiest Americans.
