Watch Stewart Rip the Media: You Should’ve Cared About Baltimore BEFORE It Was ‘On Fire’
On tonight’s Daily Show, Jon Stewart called out the media and public for not caring about Baltimore and other cities until they’re “on fire”, saying that the city should have declared a state of emergency since the 70’s, when the poverty rate skyrocketed, not now when the youths take to the streets in protest.
Stewart said that the media and public needs to stop ignoring the roots of the problems in these communities and start working towards solving them, instead of simply freaking out every time a “periodic fiery ball of anger threatens to enter our airspace.”
