In this video, Thom Hartmann rips Jeb Bush for being a neo-conservative extremist trying to masquerade as a moderate, pointing to his endorsement of his brother’s policies and a little history lesson to expose Jeb’s neo-con roots.
While Bush is insisting that he is “his own man”, Hartmann points out that “the irony, of course, is that Jeb owes everything to his last name. His connections, his money, the very fact that he’s taken seriously as a candidate, they’re all because his last name is Bush.”
Then he really gets into it: “The mainstream media has apparently forgotten that back in the late 1990s, Jeb helped found PNEC, Project for New American Century, the think tank that called for the overthrow of Saddam Hussein and every other government in the world that America didn’t like.”
PNEC was very influential, and many of its founders went on to work in the Bush Administration and led America into invading Iraq in 2003- like Donald Rumsfeld and Paul Wolfowitz.
“Just saying those names makes it feel like its 2003 again” quips Hartmann, and he’s dead on. If Jeb somehow finds his way to the White House, it will be a third term of George W, and we cannot allow that to happen.
