Rep. Brad Sherman (D-Calif.) called out House Republicans who clamor to blame Pres. Obama for everything, including ISIS, when it was really the Bush-Cheney Iraq war started under false pretenses that created the environment for ISIS to grow.
“What we don’t need is the idea that blaming Obama for everything constitutes a foreign policy strategy,” Sherman said. “The fact is that it was the Bush administration that installed and left Maliki in power. It was Maliki that expelled all our forces and would not allow a residual force.”
Sherman went on to conclude, “the great problem with Iraq today is what Maliki did to that country, and the person who installed Maliki was the former President of the United States, President George W. Bush.”
Kudos to Congressman Sherman for calling out Republicans for their attempt to deceive the public and hide the truth about how Bush left Iraq in shambles. Now Pres. Obama is forced to clean up the mess Republicans left behind.
