Oklahoma Bigots Greet Obama With Confederate Flag Rally (Videos/Images)
Throngs of Confederate supporters showed up to march with their treasonous flags-a-flyin’ to greet President Obama as he pays a visit to Durant, Oklahoma. The President will be announcing the beginning of his ConnectHome program, “a new initiative with communities, the private sector, and federal government to expand high speed broadband to more families across the country.”
Apparently that was reason enough for right-wing racists and FOX News zealots to group up en masse to wave symbols of slavery, hatred, and treason in the face of our nation’s first black President. It’s a despicable showing of ignorance that was roundly lambasted on Twitter and other social media sites for being so very offensive. It just goes to show that the removal of the flag from South Carolina was only the first battle in a long war to erode the “heritage” of oppression and bigotry that is seemingly so deeply entrenched in certain parts of the country.
