In this clip, President Obama speaks regretfully about the constant political obstructionism that has prevented him from taking any action towards reasonable gun control and any steps at all to reduce the number of Americans who die needlessly every year:
“If you ask me where has been the one area where I feel I’ve been most frustrated, most stymied, it is the fact that the United States of America is the one advanced nation on earth in which we do not have sufficient common sense gun safety laws, even in the face of repeated mass killings. If you look at the number of Americans killed since 9/11 by terrorism, it’s less than a hundred. The number of Americans killed by gun violence is in the tens of thousands.”
He’s absolutely right. It’s far past time that America got its act together and did something, anything at all to halt the constant death and violence that come from the mass proliferation of weapons in our nation.
