In this satirical video, Planned Parenthood fights back with their own heavily edited videos to demonstrate just how easy it is to doctor footage and blow statements wildly out of context. This time, it’s right-wing anti-abortion activists…who are shown supporting abortion rights and Planned Parenthood!
It’s a poignant lesson that will unfortunately be almost entirely ignored by the far right-wing, which latches onto conspiracy theories with the ferocity of a starving jackal and refuses to let go. But it’s a very valuable lesson for the rest of us who may have been uncertain in the face of what at first appears to be convincing evidence. In this day and age, it is incredibly easy to alter media to suit a particular purpose. Be vigilant.
