In this hilarious clip, late-night comedian Jimmy Fallon does an excellent impersonation of Republican front-runner and head rabble-rouser Donald Trump, roundly mocking him with Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton for his abrasive personality and offensive views on America’s women.
It begins with “Trump” calling Hillary on a gold-plated phone. They exchange pleasantries: “I haven’t seen you since my last wedding!” says Fallon. “Well, I’m sure I’ll see you at the next one” replied Hillary. After some jabs at Trump’s infamous narcissism, the pair turn to some real issues.
First, they discuss women’s issues in America. Hillary says “Donald, I’ve spent my entire career fighting for women’s rights. I’ll push for equal pay in the workplace, I’ll protect women’s health and reproductive rights, and I’ll make quality, affordable childcare a reality for families. I’m curious. What’s your stance on women’s issues?” “Trump” quips in response that “I know a lot of women and they all have issues,” satirizing Trump’s casual misogyny with a zinger. Hillary has been working tirelessly for women’s rights since 1977, when she helped found the non-profit Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families.
The talk then turns to immigration. “Next question: Immigration. Wall…or GIANT WALL?” demands Trump. “Come on, Donald!” replies Hillary. “America was built by people who came here, they worked their hearts out for a better life, that’s what many immigrants are doing today, their dream is to become American citizens, and you’re trying to stop them! “Do you have any idea what it’s like to work so hard for something, to be so close to getting it, then someone pops out of nowhere and tries to take it all away?” she asks.
“Are you talking about Bernie Sanders? I hate to say this but I think he’s losing his hair” baits “Trump.” At least he doesn’t just have one strand that he twirls over his head like a soft serve at Dairy Queen!” jabs Hillary.
Fallon’s impersonation of Trump hits the nail right on the head, and Hillary does an excellent job playing along. It’s well worth a look.
