Ronda Rousey Endorses Bernie Sanders: "He Doesn't Take Corporate Money"

Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has been making waves in American politics for his stalwart refusal to accept dark campaign money and his laser-sharp focus on the real issues that affect American people. His latest celebrity endorsement is the UFC Women’s champion Ronda Rousey, who is inspired by his honesty and integrity in a political atmosphere where such values are a rare commodity.

“I’m voting for Bernie Sanders, because he doesn’t take any corporate money,” she told MAXIM in a recent interview. “I don’t think politicians should be allowed to take money for their campaigns from outside interests.” She also reiterated her dislike for the bombastic racism of Donald Trump, who previously expressed his admiration for the fighter. “I mean, I wouldn’t vote for him,” she said. “I just really wouldn’t trust the guy with running my country, that’s all. I’m not really going to get into specifics of it, but, I mean, I don’t want a reality TV star to be running my country.”

Sanders’ presidential campaign has the potential to be something so more than the usual sensationalist dog-and-pony show that we usually get. He speaks often of being at the forefront of a political revolution in our nation, transcending the power of wealthy oligarchs and party establishments and riding a wave of populist frustration towards a brighter progressive future. He’s already racked up the highest number of individuals donors ever seen at this point in a campaign. As American civil society gathers in support of Sanders, only time will tell if popular rejection of the status quo will propel him to the presidency.
