"Responsible Gun Owner" Arrested For Spree of 42 Drive-By Shootings In 1 Night

The Republican Party and the National Rifle Association (NRA) have worked tirelessly to impede common sense gun control in the United States. They have blocked every single bill that has attempted to make America safe, in spite of the astronomical number of mass shootings we have experienced over the last two decades. They claim they block the legislation — which could save our kids’ lives — because they are committed to protecting the law-abiding citizens’ Second Amendment rights from the nonexistent hoards of liberal gun-grabbers who want to stomp all over the Constitution. Instead, they end up protecting people like Dylann Roof, Adam Lanza, and this Oklahoma man who was arrested for a spree of drive-by shootings on Wednesday.
The Enid Police Department started receiving phone calls on Wednesday afternoon about property damage caused by gunfire. Residents say a man was driving around town and shooting vehicles — forty-two shootings were reported. Fortunately, no people were injured in the ammosexual’s rampage, but a dog was not so lucky. One resident told police that their pet was shot in the leg, he underwent surgery Wednesday night and is expected to recover.
One witness was able to provide police with the shooter’s license plate number and a description of the car. Police used the description of the car and license plate number to find the owner of the vehicle used in the shootings. The SWAT team served a warrant on the house in the middle of the night and arrested twenty-nine year old, Anthony “Tony” Jackson.
“As of this time, approximately 42 calls have been received concerning damage to vehicles. One of the calls received involved a dog that was shot in the leg,” Capt. Jack Morris said. “Police are still receiving calls this morning.”
Jackson, who has no police record, was charged with animal cruelty, reckless conduct with a firearm, and use of a vehicle to facilitate intentional discharge of a firearm.
The right will claim that this is an “isolated incident” and the people they want to protect are “law-abiding, responsible gun owners.” The problem with that argument is that they are all “responsible” gun owners until they’re not. They are all “law-abiding” citizens until they’re not. There are thousands of reports of “law-abiding, responsible gun owners” shooting people or leaving their weapons unsecured so that other people, often children, can get ahold of them and hurt someone. These are the people that the NRA is fighting so viciously to “protect.”

One would have to imagine that there is something seriously wrong with a person who drives through residential neighborhoods and randomly fires their gun, hitting cars and animals. Although he didn’t have a criminal record, maybe an expanded background check would have uncovered a history of mental illness; but, we will never know because authorities are not allowed to find these things out. That is the result of the GOP and their buddies in the NRA have preventing gun-control legislation. I guess we should look on the bright side and be grateful that this gun-loving lunatic didn’t decide to shoot up a school or movie theater or even a church.
