In what apparently passes for an apology at FOX News, two correspondents have been suspended for cursing at President Obama on live television in their reactions to the President’s Sunday Oval Office address. Stacey Dash on Outnumbered publicly declared that “I felt like he could give a sh*t — excuse me, like he could care less” about the fight against terrorism, in a disgustingly offensive dismissal of the President’s statement, which she clearly hadn’t listened to.
FOX’s “security analyst” Lt. Col. Ralph Peters decided to one-up Dash in the puerility department, insulting our Commander-in-Chief in an incredibly rude way: ““Look, Mr. President, we’re not afraid, we’re angry, we’re pissed off, we’re furious! We want you to react, we want you to do something! I mean this guy is such a total p***y, it’s stunning.” For an ex-military man to besmirch his commander-in-chief so casually shows an appalling lack of respect and lack of discipline. He also doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Less than an hour after the angry neocon made his rant, the Obama administration announced “the death of the Islamic State’s senior leader in Libya, known as Abu Nabil, who was targeted in a Nov. 13 U.S. air strike carried out by F-15 aircraft on a compound in the city of Derna” and the death of an al-Shabaab senior commander, Abdirahman Sandhere – a Somalian terrorist group that has pledged allegiance to the Islamic State. It’s clear that what Peters really wants is for President Obama to invade Syria and Iraq, just like Peter’s idol, Vladimir Putin, has done.
FOX has announced that while they condone airing outright lies about our President, they do not appreciate their colorful words: “Earlier today, Fox contributors Lt. Col. Ralph Peters and Stacey Dash made comments on different programs that were completely inappropriate and unacceptable for our air. Fox Business Network and Fox News Channel do not condone the use of such language, and have suspended both Peters and Dash for two weeks.”
They did not issue a condemnation of their opinions, both of which are wildly unfair criticisms of a leveled and reasonable foreign policy. And let’s not forget how another of FOX’s vaunted “strategic analysts” was recently outed for fabricating his entire career. Can you imagine the explosion of outrage that would emerge from the FOX echo chamber if anyone had publicly used that level of cursing to describe President Bush’s catastrophic presidency? A minor slap on the wrist and the casual tossing of a bone to an overly sensitive Christian viewership does not absolve them of perpetrating outrageous lies and allowing their “pundits” to get so viciously partisan in the first place.
