Planned Parenthood took a well-deserved victory lap yesterday after anti-abortion extremist and disgraced ex-HP CEO Carly Fiorina dropped out of the Republican presidential race. Gender-traitor Fiorina had made attacking Planned Parenthood a central theme of her campaign, in a desperate attempt to stir up some support among social conservatives.
She failed at her objective, but succeeded in publicly besmirching the beloved women’s healthcare center on national television, lying to millions that she had seen a video of a screaming fetus being harvested for organs while it was still alive. Even worse, when faced with the evidence that she had in fact made it all up, she refused to back down, leaving that gruesome image locked in the minds of the naive.

Fiorina helped spearhead a nation-wide smear campaign against Planned Parenthood that culminated in a series of Congressional hearings, accusing the women’s organization – whose primary function is to provide reproductive health services like contraception, cancer screenings, and STI testing/treatment – of selling fetal tissues for profit. Burnt but not broken, it is Planned Parenthood that still lives this day, helping millions of Americans make the right choices for themselves and their bodies.
Fiorina is forced to withdraw, devoid of any credibility or sense of success. She may live well in the mansion she bought with the layoffs of 38,000, but we can only hope that the shame of her consistent failures will bring her no peace. We hope she is tortured by the knowledge that her lies helped provoke a terrorist attack that killed three at a Planned Parenthood clinic – and for unraveling decades of progress in protecting women’s rights in our nation.
