VIDEO: Jennifer Lopez Unveils New Hillary-Quoting Girl Power Anthem
Jennifer Lopez has a new video in which Hillary Clinton has a starring role. After a brief opening with J-Lo in a phone booth, Hillary Clinton’s famous “Human rights are women’s rights” speech takes over. The speech, delivered at at a Chinese audience in Beijing, launched Clinton’s status as woman’s rights icon.
The speech plays as we watch a distraught and feed up Jennifer Lopez prepare to deliver the evening news. In a perfect homage to the classic 1976 satire Network, J-Lo throws out the script for the evening broadcast and calls out to her female listeners to get mad as hell.
“Ain’t Your Mama”, written for Jennifer Lopez by Meghan Trainor, delivers nonstop powerful imaginary. A battle cry for women to demand equal treatment, J-Lo takes us on a visual history of the role of women in America. From a 1950s house wife to a nod to the film 9 to 5, the video pulls no punches in its vivid history lesson. The video ends with a compilation of all these women throughout history standing up and declaring, “I ain’t gonna do your laundry. I ain’t your mama.”
