World-famous movie star Sean Penn has thrown his hat into the political ring once again, announcing his decision to back former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for the Presidency over Donald Trump, which honestly shouldn’t even require much consideration in the first place – but Penn did have an excellent explanation for his choice.
In an interview with the Financial Times, Penn said that “It doesn’t matter what Trump says because all he is doing is selling. It’s masturbatory populism. It’s really an opportunity for one man to have a group celebration of his own narcissism. ”
This should be quite obvious to everyone at this stage in the election cycle. It is, however, quite remarkable that so many of his supporters despise the Republican establishment and all sixteen of their chosen candidates so much that they are willing to delude themselves into buying the nonsense that this abrasive, rabble-rousing charlatan is selling.
