BREAKING: FOX News CEO Roger Ailes Sued for Sexual Harassment by Host Gretchen Carlson
In a shocking revelation, the former co-host of Fox & Friends is suing FOX News Chief Roger Ailes for firing her after she rebuffed his cringe-worthy sexual advances. She says that she was reportedly terminated on June 23, even though her show was one of the most highly-rated programs at the notorious propaganda outfit. Ailes told her “I think you and I should have had a sexual relationship a long time ago and then you’d be good and better and I’d be good and better,’ adding that ‘sometimes problems are easier to solve’ that way.”
In what will come as a surprise to nobody, Carlson also revealed a deeply ingrained culture of misogyny and sexual harrassment in the FOX offices, that she was “ostracized, marginalized and shunned” for refusing Mr. Ailes’ advances, and that in general, the female employees at FOX are subject to constant microaggression and overt discrimination.

She also accuses co-host Steve Doocy of “severe and pervasive sexual harassment”and of “generally attempting to put her in her place by refusing to accept and treat her as an intelligent and insightful female journalist rather than a blond female prop.” She recounts how after coming to Ailes with complaints about harassment, she was told to stop getting “offended so God damn easy about everything.”
The hypocrisy is to be expected but is still outrageous nonetheless. Ailes’ “news network” is a megaphone of toxic hypermasculinity, propagators of institutionalized misogyny and defenders of rape culture, all barely disguised in the cloak of “family values.” FOX is the preferred echo chamber of religious extremists and white supremacists across the nation, men like Ailes are a major reason why our nation faces such division and hatred and why our citizens who aren’t straight white males are treated so poorly. Shame on you, Mr. Ailes. It’s not the 1950s’ anymore. We must show the world that this kind of behavior is not acceptable in a professional environment.
