Both talent and funds are fleeing from the Republican National Convention like it has the plague, thanks to presumptive nominee Donald Trump. Already scraping the bottom of the barrel for speakers, the RNC has now revealed that not even former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow can stomach his name being associated with the abrasive ethnonationalist rabble-rouser.
The former Florida Gators wunderkind that led the Denver Broncos to an unlikely playoff run announced on Facebook that he in fact would not be attending the Republican National Convention to speak on behalf of Trump.

Shot to national fame for guiding the Broncos to the playoffs and gaining notoriety for his controversial displays of religious emotion, Tebow was immediately jettisoned by a far-thinking Broncos front office for arguably the greatest quarterback to ever play the game, Peyton Manning, who just guided John Elway and the Broncos to another Super Bowl. Shameless plug aside, Tebow has since bounced around from bench to practice squad before ending up an unsigned free agent as the beginning of the 2016 training camp approaches.
The purchase of a Tebow helmet and jersey by Trump, using funds from his own charity, should tell you all you need to know about not only the narcissistic star-chasing aspect of Trump but the utter dearth of significant characters who will stand up to speak on his behalf. When even Tim Tebow, who presumptuously believes the Constitution was written by Jesus himself, won’t speak for Trump, they have some very serious public relations problems – problems put into sharp perspective earlier tonight when it was revealed the RNC is already short some six million dollars to pay for their medieval policyfest.
