YOU’RE FIRED: FOX News CEO Roger Ailes Loses Job Over Sexual Harrasment Lawsuit

It is with tremendous amusement that we can announce that the despised CEO of FOX News, Roger Ailes, will be fired or forced to resign over the sexual harassment lawsuit filed by former anchor Gretchen Carlson.

More than ten other women have come forth with accusations of systematic and widespread misogyny and harassment at FOX News. Promotions and career opportunities were offered in exchange for sexual favors – and that protests were met with marginalization, ostracizing, and ultimately termination.

Ailes is being punished not only for his own sexual predation but for cultivating a culture of misogyny and harassment throughout the company and the content aired on the notorious propaganda network.

An internal investigation was reportedly conducted following the filing of the lawsuit, and this decision is clear evidence that the accusations are valid, in spite of the piteous protests issued by swine like Steve Doocey and the rest of the FOX News boys club.

An anonymous employee told the Huffington Post that Ailes would “always brags to people about how he doesn’t do polling or testing when he chooses his on-air talent. He told me that if he was thinking of hiring a woman, he’d ask himself if he would fuck her, and if he would, then he’d hire her to be on-camera” and that he told prospective hirees to “turn around so he can see my ass.”

It is enormously gratifiying to see a powerful white man punished for the abuse of his position and for his efforts to sexually exploit his employees and to see the man whose network is so devoid of fact or substance it literally makes you stupider to watch.

Given the way the right-wing fiercely defends misogynists, sexual harassers, and rapists, this news is a shock to all of us- one that should send reverberations around the corporate world. No matter how powerful you are, you are not safe from consequence of you behave in such a vile and predatory manner. It’s not 1955. Women in the workplace are not there for your pleasure. They are not objects for your amusement, and they deserve the same respect you would give any man.

Good riddance to you, Mr. Ailes. It is likely we will never fully recover from damage you have done to this country.
