Former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm spoke at the Democratic National Convention (DNC), and delivered a brilliant parody of Republican nominee Donald Trump. She adopted a fake swagger, exaggerated gesticulations, and smarmy tone of voice. Using grandiose language, she began,
Donald, you’re so vain you probably think this speech is about you. Don’t you now?
She continued in Trump’s voice to remind the DNC that, although the left is not homogenous when it comes to specific policies, we must not elect Trump. The crowd went wild, displaying a fierce unity between all sides of the Democratic party. We appreciate a bit of humor in politics, and Granholm’s act struck all the right notes while sending an important message about party unity in the general election.
