Meghan McCain Just Laid This Brutal Smackdown On Trump For Insulting Fallen Veterans

Meghan McCain, the daughter of GOP Sen. John McCain, did not mince words in response to Donald Trump’s despicable comments about the parents of Captain Humayun Khan, a fallen Muslim U.S. soldier.

The captain’s father, Khizr, gave a rousing speech at the Democratic National Convention where he challenged Trump’s world view, which brought forth Trump’s thin skinned inability to handle criticism. Trump’s subsequent attacks on the Khan family have ignited a firestorm of backlash.

McCain is no stranger to the spotlight, and she has joined a line of Republicans who have repudiated Trump. McCain tweeted, “I would ask what kind of barbarian would attack the parents of a fallen soldier, but oh yeah it’s the same person who attacks POW’s.”

McCain’s comments were to remind the American population of Trump’s previous 2015 attacks on her father’s military service, where Sen. McCain was a prisoner of war in Vietnam who suffered through torture for over five years before finally being released.

In Sept. 2015 Trump had nothing nice to say about Meghan McCain when she appeared on Fox News calling her, “angry and obnoxious.”

Trump’s repeated disrespectful comments towards military members and their families give one the impression that he doesn’t actually want to win the presidency, as foreign policy and support of the military are the bread and butter of the Republican platform. Even the staunchest Republicans will now have to reconsider their support of a candidate who is clearly out of touch with the American electorate, and reality itself.
