Trump Attacked Vets With PTSD. This Disabled Vet’s Response Is PERFECT
Donald Trump’s widely panned comments about veterans who aren’t “strong enough” suffering from PTSD have been criticized across the board by media figures and veterans’ organizations, but it’s the words of our fighting men and women themselves who we should be listening to the closest.
But it’s the words of disabled veteran Stan Stewart that really stand out. Stewart took to Facebook today to share his two cents in a comment on the Washington Post’s coverage of the gaffe, and his powerful words put into clear perspective just how little respect the Republican nominee shows our fighting men and women.
Trump has promised to take care of our veterans better than anybody, whatever that might mean, but at this point he has not proven to be a man of his word and clearly cares little for anyone except himself. This hypocrite claims to stand for the troops but dodged the draft, said that sleeping with so many models that he was at risk for sexually transmitted diseases was his own “personal Vietnam,” mocked Senator John McCain for being shot down and tortured in Vietnam, insulted the family of a fallen war hero for challenging him on his un-American immigration policy, and said that rape is inevitable if women are included in the military. If he truly cared about veterans, he would have supported them throughout his career and not just to earn a couple cheap votes from gullible nationalists who are swayed by draping yourself in the flag.
