The Republican Senate Leader Just Demanded Investigation Of Russia’s Pro-Trump Interference
Six weeks remain until Donald Trump is scheduled to be inaugurated as U.S. President, but Republicans in congress are already tearing away from him. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell told reporters Monday that he will back a congressional investigation into potential Russian tampering in this year’s election.
Trump has made it abundantly clear that he has little interest in such an investigation and ignored a CIA report that included findings of Russian tampering that boosted his victory over Hillary Clinton last month.
In breaking with the president, McConnell risks putting congress itself in Trump’s crosshairs. The veteran GOP leader seemed willing to overlook that concern Monday, telling reporters that the potential elections breach “simply cannot be a partisan issue,” according to Politico.
Republican Sen. John McCain, one of Trump’s favorite targets during his run up to the White House, is assigned to direct the intelligence investigation.
Meanwhile, the incoming commander-in-chief has spent part of his weekend and early Monday trolling the idea of a hacked election.
Unless you catch “hackers” in the act, it is very hard to determine who was doing the hacking. Why wasn’t this brought up before election?

Can you imagine if the election results were the opposite and WE tried to play the Russia/CIA card. It would be called conspiracy theory!
