The plot continues to thicken in the fake FBI email “scandal” which influenced Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton to lose the presidential election. It appears the FBI never served disgraced Democratic congressman Anthony Weiner, or his estrange wife Huma Abedin, who is the top aide to Hillary Clinton, with a warrant to search Weiner’s computer.
The shocking revelation came thanks to a lawyer named E. Randol Schoenberg who requested a judge begin sorting out fact from fiction regarding FBI Director James Comey’s announcement that emails tied to Clinton were found on Weiner’s computer. Schoenberg is famous for helping to recover artwork which was stolen by Nazis during World War 2. Schoenberg requested that the warrants issued to Abedin and Weiner be admitted to the official court record, but apparently they do not exist. Abedin’s lawyer Karen Dunn said Abedin cannot produce a copy of the warrant because, “The government has never provided her with a copy of the warrant it reportedly obtained to search certain emails. We understand that Mr. Weiner has likewise not been provided with a copy of the material.”
Schoenberg implored the judge to work with urgency to resolve this conflict before Dec. 19 when the Electoral College is slated to vote in the final stage of the presidential election.
The FBI has not commented on Schoenberg’s lawsuit, nor have they offered any evidence that warrants were ever given to Abedin or Weiner. Schoenberg said law dictates when a warrant is executed the body executing the warrant “must give a copy of the warrant and a receipt or the property taken to the person from whom, or from whose premises, the property was taken.”
If the FBI did not issue warrants to Abedin or Weiner, it will further shed light on what was a hijacking of the presidential process by Director Comey. Keeping in mind that days before the election Comey wrote a letter to 16 members of Congress which in part said, “Based on our review, we have not changed our conclusions that we expressed in July with respect to Secretary Clinton.”
There was never anything to find in the emails used as fodder by Trump against Clinton. Trump knew this, as did Comey. However, the FBI was described as “Trumpland” by FBI employees disgusted by the bureau’s conduct and it has now become all too clear that the entire action by Comey was a partisan ruse to damage Hillary Clinton’s candidacy. Unfortunately, the damage has been wrought, and if and when it can be proved in a courtroom that the FBI did not issue warrants to Abedin and Weiner it will not matter because the FBI’s conduct will not allow for the election to be voted on again. The bad guys succeeded in their coup, much to the peril of American democracy.
