Two days after his inauguration, and “President” Donald Trump is already a bipartisan laughingstock. Obsessed with the size of the crowds at his inauguration, Trump spent his first speech to the Central Intelligence Agency complaining about how the media was lying about the attendance at his swearing-in-ceremony; he later dispatched not one but two of his lackeys to repeat those same lies to an incredulous press and nation.
The entire nation has taken to mocking him for his continued obsession with “size” and overcompensating for his own deficiencies. Even the NHL hockey team, the Dallas Stars, trolled our ratings-obsessed president at last night’s match with the Washington Capitals.
While it’s clear that this obsession with the inaugural size is a testing of the waters – making us used to little lies before they start hitting us with the big ones – the fact that a huge franchise like the Stars – from Dallas, no less – is publicly mocking our president for his insecurities, we may be seeing the beginning of a nationwide resistance.
