Trump Just Threatened To Slash Funding To UC Berkeley After They Cancelled Milo Speech
Last night the University of California Berkeley canceled a planned appearance by far-right figurehead Milo Yiannopoulos after protesters turned violent. Protesters broke property, started fires, built barricades and shot fireworks at police.
The University issued a statement condemning the masked individuals who committed violence at the protest, which was otherwise peaceful. The University stated that the event was canceled because it wants to “ensure the safety and security of those attending the event”, not because of the disgusting rhetoric Yiannopoulos has to offer.
This is not the first time Yiannopoulos has had his events canceled. Last year his “Dangerous Faggot Tour” which visited campuses across the country caused outrage as he spread his poisonous rhetoric across America, even going so far as to publicly out and humiliate a trans student. A planned event at U.C. Davis was canceled while events on other campuses were disrupted by protesters.
Despite the fact that U.C. Berkeley canceled the event on the grounds of safety, our Idiot-In-Chief obviously had to get involved to protect his favorite groupie:

Clearly, Pesident Donald Trump did not bother to read the statement issued by U.C. Berkeley which made it clear that they condemn violence and were willing to allow Yianoppoulos’s point of view to be heard. More likely he gets his news straight from the White nationalist Steve Bannon, the current Chief Strategist at the White House and Yianoppoulos’s former employer at the alt-right fake news source Breitbart. Trump’s distortion of U.C. Berkeley’s actual position serves as an excuse for him to continue cracking down on anyone who is critical of him, his policies, or his racist, misogynistic, xenophobic, homophobic accomplices. Censoring left-leaning universities is a logical place to start.
Trump is already trying to hijack higher education by appointing religious zealots to key positions, but now he’s taken it a step further, threatening a university’s funding simply for protecting the safety of the general public! The man seems to have no limits when it comes to protecting his cronies, disgusting.
