Trump Is Furious Over Melissa McCarthy’s Sean Spicer For The Worst Reason
POLITICO has just reported that President Donald Trump is particularly infuriated by Melissa McCarthy’s portrayal of Press Secretary Sean Spicer on last week’s Saturday Night Live – and for a disgusting reason. Many expected a tirade on Twitter about how terrible SNL was from POTUS like he has done in the past, but one thing left him so shaken he didn’t even want to tweet:
More than being lampooned as a press secretary who makes up facts, it was Spicer’s portrayal by a woman that was most problematic in the president’s eyes, according to sources close to him. And the unflattering send-up by a female comedian was not considered helpful for Spicer’s longevity in the grueling, high-profile job in which he has struggled to strike the right balance between representing an administration that considers the media the “opposition party,” and developing a functional relationship with the press.
“Trump doesn’t like his people to look weak,” added a top Trump donor.
Trump’s uncharacteristic Twitter silence over the weekend about the “Saturday Night Live” sketch was seen internally as a sign of how uncomfortable it made the White House feel. Sources said the caricature of Spicer by McCarthy struck a nerve and was upsetting to the press secretary and to his allies, who immediately saw how damaging it could be in Trump world.
The implication being, of course, is that since Trump views women as inferior creatures and sexual objects that exist only to serve the needs of Tremendous White Christian Man, McCarthy’s mocking of his press secretary shamed both Spicer and Trump by virtue of her gender alone – or to put it in deplorable-speak, he got cucked.
While it is somewhat amusing to realize that the president of the United States is so petty and insecure that he feels his manhood threatened by a woman dressing up as his press secretary, seeing the depths of his misogyny put on display once again should cause a shudder as you question how in the name of hell he was ever elected in the first place.
