Time magazine’s latest cover shows Donald Trump sitting in the Oval Office in the middle of a horrible storm, denying that anything is going on. That is a perfect description of how Trump’s first few weeks in office have gone. His Administration has been wildly chaotic and is ridden with scandal after just 24 days.

Trump reportedly accidentally signed an executive order that put the white nationalist banker Steve Bannon on the National Security Council because he didn’t bother to read it. He has already had a row with the judiciary over his ‘Muslim ban’ – a travel ban targeting seven Muslim-majority countries (with an exception for non-Muslims from those countries).
Trump has spent time on Twitter insulting a department store instead of governing the country. He still has not filled his Cabinet posts and has already lost a national security advisor, Michael Flynn, who had illegal communications with Russia. Now multiple members of his team are implicated in the Russia scandal.
Meanwhile, Trump is trying to pretend that he is an excellent president. He sends his surrogate Kellyanne Conway and press secretary Sean Spicer out to tell the media of what a wonderful job he is doing, how popular he is, and how none of his scandals actually matter – what matters is his detractors being mean to him. With regards to Trump’s appalling management skills, catastrophic scandals, and uninformed policy-making, the President wants you to believe that there is ‘nothing to see here.’
