Six Trump Staffers Just Got Fired For Failing FBI Background Checks
According to Politico, six White House staffers were dismissed after failing their FBI background checks.
The six were escorted from the building after they didn’t pass the “Questionnaire for National Security Positions.” Without passing the questionnaire, the six could not be granted national security clearance.
At least one staffer who failed a background check, Caroline Weil’s, former director of scheduling and the daughter of president trumps Florida campaign manager, is being given a job at the Treasury department.
For Trump, who claims he only hires the best people, this is another blow to his administration just days after Michael Flynn was forced to resign as Trump’s National Security Adviser, and his original nominee for Secretary of Labor, Andrew Puzder, stepped down from consideration.
Earlier today, his replacement for the National Security Adviser publicly rejected his offer. Dozens of important positions in the State Department are still unfilled.
