Trump’s Deportation Force Just Yanked Girl With Brain Tumor From Hospital

Common cause has been found between individuals who hate undocumented immigrants in the United States, and those who are against the concept of individuals having a right to receive the healthcare they require to live. A 26-year-old undocumented woman has been held by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for over a year and during that time, she developed a brain tumor.

After the woman was transported from ICE’s Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas to a local hospital to receive treatment, ICE agents just removed the woman from the hospital in chains. Trump and his sycophants are undoubtedly rejoicing in the suffering of a dying undocumented immigrant.

The woman, whose identity has not been named, came to the United States illegally on Nov. 4, 2015 from El Salvador and by Nov. 8 2015 she was in the custody of ICE officials. Her reason for coming to the United States was that of self-preservation as she claims to have been seeking asylum from gang-affiliated family members who sought to murder her for participating in a romantic relationship with a police officer.

There has been no explanation from any ICE officials as to why the woman was brought to a hospital, only to then be heartlessly removed and brought back to ICE’s detention center. The woman’s lawyer, Mellisa Zungia, reported the brutal way in which she has been treated by ICE:

She told us they tied her hands and ankles in her condition. She’s complaining of a lot of pain.

Only truly cowardly individuals would feel it necessary to bound the hands and feet of a woman who is near death and try to send her back to El Salvador — where she has been threatened with murder.

To make matters worse, the hospital where the woman was receiving care has said they no longer wish to offer treatment as her case has become too politicized and their staff are receiving a bombardment of harassing communications from individuals on both sides of the issue.

While in custody she collapsed on Feb. 10, 2017, and upon examination by medical professionals, it was found she had a brain tumor. Contact with the woman has been almost entirely limited as she has lost most of her mobility and motor functions.

On Feb. 19, 2017 the woman’s mother claims to have spoken with her during a five-minute conversation, which is all they were allowed, and the mother claims her daughter told her that she had been bleeding profusely from her nose for days on end.

It is the worry of the woman’s family that she will die while in custody, and because of ICE’s policy of hospitalized detainees having limited access to communications, the woman has been unable to speak with her family in what will very well turn out to be her last days alive.

A spokeswoman for ICE, Danielle Bennett, explained why the woman has not had more contact with her family:

Requests by family members to visit ICE detainees who have been hospitalized are permitted but must be approved in advance with ICE and the appropriate consulate. ICE is currently reaching out to the family’s attorney to explain the process.

Such a cold-hearted tact of forcing family members to have advanced approval to see a dying relative who is unable to receive the treatment they require because they are locked in a detention center, is the height of callousness and hypocrisy. This is the vision of Trump’s “Make America Great Again” edict that his horribly frightening. The leader of “Grassroots Leadership“, Bob Lial,  based in Texas where the woman is being held said:

You are bound to see more cases like this if ICE fulfills the government’s orders and dramatically expands detention. You are bound to see more stories where people have suffered these kinds of medical tragedies in detention.

While the woman’s family attempts to navigate the gauntlet of pointless bureaucracy in an attempt to even speak to their dying relative, they are out of their depth and out of options.

There is nothing redeeming about this scenario which shows the longer Trump and his supporters have their way the suffering of individuals who merely wish to join American society will continue to grow.
