Republican Senators Just Slammed Trump’s “Disaster” Of A Budget Proposal

President Donald Trump has made public details of his first budget proposal and it is worse than anyone could have ever imagined. Trump calls for an unneeded $54 billion increase in military spending and will balance it by slashing everything else that he can.

In particular, he’s taking aim at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) which ensures safe air and water and the State Department, which is critical to our diplomatic efforts across the world.

Even Congressional Republicans, who so far have been too cowardly to rock the boat and have let themselves become complicit in Trump’s horrific agenda, are finally being pushed to the breaking point. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) announced today that Trump’s budget will be “dead on arrival.”

He continued, “It’s not going to happen. It would be a disaster. A budget this lean would put those who serve overseas for the State Department at risk, and it’s not going to happen.”

In addition to Graham’s harsh criticism of Trump’s State Department cuts, Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) has denounced the budget cuts to foreign aid. He tweeted that well-spent foreign aid is “critical” to national security.

Democratic Senator Christopher Coons (DE) agreed with Rubio’s assessment. He explained, “The aid we provide to countries around the world directly advances U.S. national interests by fostering a safer and more stable world.”

It is astounding that Trump has managed to do something so awful that even his Republican cronies are unwilling to go along with it. Criticism from within his party is the surest sign that Trump is about to jump off of a proverbial cliff and bring America down with him. His deranged ideas are about to sink America. He must be stopped.
