Early Tuesday morning President Donald Trump yet again went after the Obama administration, this time for allegedly releasing 122 “vicious” inmates from the Guantanamo Bay detention center. Using his preferred platform, Trump tweeted:
122 vicious prisoners, released by the Obama Administration from Gitmo, have returned to the battlefield. Just another terrible decision!

Trump’s tweet followed 31 minutes behind a Fox news report about a U.S. airstrike in Yemen that killed a former detainee. This is further proof that, instead of receiving briefings from his staff Trump prefers to watch TV in the morning to get all his “facts.”

But Trump has, yet again, got his information wrong. According to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, 113 of the 122 inmates were actually released under Obama’s predecessor, George W. Bush. The former detainee killed in Yemen was Muhammad Tahar, who was transferred to the country in 2009.

Trump has the most advanced Signals Intelligence and the most powerful military and intelligence services in the world at his disposal. America’s best and brightest are but a phone call away to answer any question the President may have with accurate, reliable and provable data. Any other world leader would kill to use these resources, even if only for a day. Yet our idiot-in-chief is perfectly happy to get all his briefings from his favorite reliable news source: Fox and Friends. One can only despair at this state of affairs.
Donald Trump and President Obama could not be more different. On the topic of Guantanamo Bay, Obama promised to close the site, a feat he never managed to accomplish. Trump, on the other hand, has promised to “load” the prison with “some bad dudes.” Obama was also courteous, had class, and never stooped so low that he openly criticized his predecessor of things he made up when he woke up grumpy in the morning.
One of Trump’s personality traits is criticizing everybody but himself, and he’s been keen to display this, last week accusing President Obama of wiretapping Trump Tower during the elections. This fantasy was quickly shut down by several former and serving members of America’s intelligence and law enforcement agencies.
The president is unstable and juvenile and keeps on confirming this every day by bringing shame upon the White House and his administration.
