Trump Just Blew Off Angry Vets To Pose For Photos With Tourists

President Trump shamelessly used our brave veterans as a political prop throughout the election – but now that he’s in office, all they’ve gotten is a cold shoulder.

The Daily Beast reports that a collective of veterans groups representing some six million of our warriors was in the White House on Tuesday.

The Student Veterans of America, the Travis Manion Foundation, the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Military Officers Association of America, Got Your 6, Concerned Veterans for America and Wounded Warrior Project, The Legion, VFW, DAV, Paralyzed Veterans of America, Vietnam Veterans of America and AMVETS were all present, hoping for an audience with their Commander-in-Chief.

Unfortunately, Trump couldn’t be bothered to give them the time of day. He was busy feeding his insatiable ego, instead deciding to surprise a White House tour group and posing for pictures in front of the spotlight.

In his place, he sent former Apprentice contestant Omarosa Manigault and Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin. The executive director of AMVETS expressed his disappointment:

“We feel like we really need the opportunity to talk directly to the Commander-in-Chief and the people making the decisions. We were never given that opportunity, so that caused a lot of concern within our community to begin with.”

It turns out this isn’t even the first time Trump has refused to meet with veteran groups and sent Omarosa in his place. In December, veterans groups went to to Trump Tower to see the man who would lead them – and got Omarosa in their place.

When Omarosa was introduced the room collectively gasped,” said one attendee, who asked to remain anonymous to avoid conflict with the White House. “There were people there missing limbs and she was once a chaplain with the militia.”

It’s now two months into Trump’s administration, and veterans groups have not been able to secure a meeting with their so-called Commander-in-Chief.

“President Trump ran a campaign on helping veterans. When you look at who he has met with since winning, he has to make sure to make veterans a priority still” groused Verna Jones, executive director of the American Legion.

Trump has used and abused our fighting men and women for far too long. Whether it was exploiting a Navy SEAL widow’s grief during his address to Congress – when his own impulsive decision got her husband killed – or dodging a debate to hold a veterans’ fundraiser and never paying out the money, Trump has done nothing to make good on his promise to “do everything for veterans.”

His refusal to meet with our vets shows that they, like the rest of the American people, are nothing but marginally useful props to be displayed in public and discarded when they no longer suit him – like he does his wives.

This is absolutely despicable behavior from a man who would dare call himself Commander-in-Chief, and his decision to parade in front of the cameras instead of sitting down with the men and women who risk their lives and limbs to keep our nation safe tells you all you need to know about what kind of a narcissistic scumbag he really is.

President Obama carried the sacrifices of our fighting men and women with him in his soul. It’s why he spends every Christmas at the military base while Trump hides himself away at Mar-a-Lago.

The difference between the two couldn’t be clearer. Veterans overwhelmingly voted for Trump, but are now getting snubbed like the rest of the American people.
