The FBI is not cooperating with the Senate’s investigation of the White House’s many ties to Russia, and even Trump’s allies are over it. The Washington Post called Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) to ask about the FBI’s cooperation and reported that the seven-term Iowa Republican began screaming into the phone:
“Every time they come up here for their nomination hearing and I ask them are you going to answer phone calls and our letters, and are you going to give us the documents we want? And every time we get a real positive yes! And then, THEY END UP BEING LIARS!”
Chairman Grassley added that he wasn’t upset by the way the FBI has been responding but the fact that “they’re responding at all.” As yet, he said, he has been unable to get confirmation as to whether the FBI is even investigating a connection between the Trump campaign and Russia’s election interference on the President’s behalf.
Only after Grassley threatened to delay consideration of a Justice Department nominee did the FBI finally agree to a closed-door briefing for him and Ranking Member Diane Feinstein (D-CA).
This is only the latest in a long line of incriminating behavior from high-ranking Republican officials working to hide the truth behind Russia’s interference in the election of its puppet, Donald Trump. Now, it seems that FBI Director James Comey, who egregiously and unfairly maligned Hillary Clinton ten days before the election, is complicit in whatever the regime is hiding.
As of yet, they have successfully withheld definitive legal proof. However, the growing web of stonewalling and lies is a textbook example of a criminal coverup, and in their deceit, they paint an increasingly clear picture of who was involved.
So clear, in fact, that even Senate Republicans won’t stand for it anymore. That could spell real trouble ahead for Presidents Trump and Putin.
